Scotia Storm Ringette, in alignment with Ringette Canada, is fully committed to fostering a Safe Sport environment.  Practicing Safe Sport ensures all participants are provided with safe, healthy, welcoming, and accessible sport environments, free from all forms of maltreatment.

Scotia Storm Ringette adopts the Ringette Nova Scotia Statement on Safe Sport (2024) and follows the True Sport Principles.

MANDATORY SAFE SPORT TRAINING FOR SCOTIA STORM RINGETTE PARTICIPANTS

Scotia Storm Ringette requires mandatory CAC Safe Sport Training or Respect in Sport for Activity Leaders training on preventing and addressing harassment and abuse for the following participants who may have direct AND non-direct contact with athletes:

  1. Head Coaches
  2. Assistant Coaches
  3. Junior Coaches
  4. Integrated Support Personnel (Mental, Strength and Conditioning, Power Skating, Sports Nutrition trainers and/or educators)
  5. High Performance Staff
  6. Team Managers
  7. Administration and Finance Personnel

This training is required to be completed prior to their first formal activity in their season, or any unsupervised contact with an athlete.
